In collaboration with the Education and Information Department (EID) of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), the Senate Electoral Tribunal (SET) organized the Orientation on the Full Automation System with Transparency Audit/Count (FASTrAC) on November 28, 2024, in Manila.

The SET was honored to welcome COMELEC Chairperson George Erwin M. Garcia, who introduced the Automated Counting Machine (ACM) and explained its innovative features, security measures, and significant improvements over the previous Vote Counting Machine (VCM). He emphasized COMELEC’s commitment to making the voting process more inclusive, secure, and transparent.

Meanwhile, the demonstration by EID Director Abigail Claire Carbero-Llacuna showcased the ACM’s ability to handle common voting errors. This hands-on demonstration provided participants with a better understanding of the ACM’s functionality.

By conducting this activity, the SET underscored the importance of transparency, efficiency, and credibility in the electoral process. This collaboration highlighted the shared objective of the SET and COMELEC to uphold democratic principles and ensure that every vote counts and every voter’s voice is heard.
