In commemoration of its 68th Founding Anniversary, the Senate Electoral Tribunal conducted three activities on April 11 to 13, 2023.  The celebration kicked off with a one-day Orientation on the Special Leave Benefits for Women and the 105-Day Expanded Maternity Leave Law, which was actively participated in by the Secretariat employees.  With the comprehensive lectures on the different types of leave benefits, expertly led by the HRMS personnel, the employees gained a deeper understanding of their privileges, as well as the concomitant conditions to be able to enjoy those privileges.

During the program, Service Award Plaques and Certificates were also presented to loyal employees while a Plaque of Commendation was handed out to the employee with perfect attendance and consistent punctuality.

The second day activity, the Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Awareness Seminar, is undoubtedly timely and crucial in navigating the digital world.  In a four-hour lecture, the subject matter expert, Atty. Vida Zora G. Bocar, elucidated the salient provisions of the Data Privacy Act, stressed the most common data privacy issues, and shared valuable tips to prevent cybersecurity breaches.  Realizing the potential dangers that these cyberhacks and data privacy violations pose on their personal and professional data and records, the participants committed to be more vigilant in their online transactions, and undertake the necessary precautions to prevent the occurrence of the same.

The third activity, aptly called Palaro ng Lahi, featured traditional Filipino games with a twist. Led by the Magna Kultura Foundation, the activity engaged the Secretariat employees, who were divided into four teams, in playing Patintero, Step No/Step Yes, Bato Bato Pik, and Hula Hoop, among others.  Throughout the activity, thunderous cheers and laughter erupted among the players as they gamely participated in all the events. More than the triumphs and defeats, the participants certainly brought with them fun-filled memories of friendly competition and a greater appreciation for teamwork, camaraderie, and sportsmanship. Needless to state, this activity fittingly capped off the Tribunal’s 68th anniversary celebration.
