On April 18, 2024, the Secretariat conducted a seminar on the rights and privileges available to solo parents under Republic Act No. 11861 and the Tribunal’s Administrative Order No. 11, series of 2023. This session provided participants with the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the unique challenges faced by solo parents, emphasizing the importance of empathy and support within their workplace community.
The lecture, delivered by Social Welfare Officer III Maria Alexelle M. Ceralde, discussed the rights and benefits outlined in the law, which align with the State’s policy to promote social justice and uphold the dignity of every individual, particularly solo parents. By raising awareness of these rights and benefits, the Tribunal aims to empower solo parents and improve their overall circumstances. By fostering a culture of understanding, the seminar encouraged employees to advocate for their colleagues, friends, and family members navigating the complexities of solo parenting.
With this initiative, the Tribunal hopes to cultivate a more compassionate and informed workforce, ready to support solo parents and create an inclusive environment that recognizes their sacrifices and contributions. Through this collective effort, the Tribunal seeks to strengthen support systems and ultimately enhance the overall well-being of its employees.
