On the morning of November 24, 2022, the Senate Electoral Tribunal conducted an Orientation on the Revised Guidelines on Equal Employment Opportunity Principle (EEOP) at the Social Hall of the Sugar Center Building in Quezon City. The Guidelines, approved on 22 December 2021, aim to uphold at all times the values of equality and inclusivity in all pillars and elements of human resource management systems and endeavor to eliminate all forms of discrimination in all personnel actions and employment decisions to ultimately sustain an efficient and productive workforce. The orientation is also in accordance with the Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management (PRIME-HRM) of the Civil Service Commission for which the Tribunal has been conferred the Bronze award.
Human Resource Management Service Director Christiann Leonard P. Agodon led the discussion of the various provisions of the said guidelines, pointing out the importance of equality and inclusivity, and the acceptance of diversity, in all aspects of the Tribunal’s human resource management systems and practices. He also emphasized that while the Tribunal is committed to uphold every individual’s right to equal employment opportunity, it strictly adheres to merit-based and competency-oriented human resource actions.
Displaying their creativity and resourcefulness, the participants produced one-minute reels showing the various human resources management systems while applying the EEOP. Their outputs effectively encapsulated their half-day learnings and proved that EEOP guides and prevails in all human resource decisions of the tribunal.
