The fourth and last in the “Usapang Babae at Usapang Lalaki” series for CY 2022, the half-day seminar on sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression and sex characteristics or SOGIESC was held on the afternoon of November 24, 2022 at the Social Hall, Sugar Center Building in Quezon City.

Focusing on this broad topic, Ms. Josephine Gabriel-Banaag explained the definition, distinctions, and commonalities of SOGIESC, along with other SOGIESC-related terms.  The forum also included a discussion on issues and recent experiences of people of diverse SOGIESC  together with various recommendations on how to address them.  Learnings from this activity were expected to help the SET employees break misconceptions that hamper the achievement of gender equality, avoid unconscious insensitivity in dealing with others, and aid them in protecting and promoting the rights of everyone.

The Gender Unicorn infographic and a video simplifying the said concepts were among the visual aids used in order to better understand SOGIESC.
